"Wednesday, do you think, like, maybe someday you might want to get married and have kids?"
"No."
"But what if you met just the right man who worshipped and adored you, who'd do anything for you, who'd be your devoted slave? What would you do?"
"I'd pity him."

Does that mean that "the right man" is inconsistent with the rest of that question?

Possibly. Maybe Wednesday's perfect man is one who's willing to endure a great deal of abuse in the name of love. Addam's Family Values came on, and that quote just struck me as being brilliant. People have a tendency to overestimate the joys of romance, sometimes. And I think the idea of, "Anyone who would love me is pitiable, on some level" resonates with me.

Mmm-hmm.

How is it brilliant?

Well, not sure why it struck me as being brilliant - probably the idea that he sort of puts his heart on his sleeve, lays it all on the line, and she just says three words. Soemthing like that.

Did he do what you say he did?

Was such despising in order?

He did - insofar as a prepubescent boy can. And such despising wasn't really in order, per se, Wednesday is just not the sort of person it is wise to have a crush on. Addam's family, after all.

So how was it brilliant?

Well, 'brilliant' in the more slang meaning of it - that is, 'really fucking awesome.' The sort of thing I wish I had the sense to say, if I had the good fortune to have someone silly enough to throw themselves at me, and I were the sort of girl who likes setting people on fire.

What sort of sense helps one to decide to say something like that?

The very peculiar sort.

Explain how it helps, please.

Well, there's a certain sort of person that can say things like that - things that are essentially mean, but when one is not the recipient of such treatment, funny. And, of course, true. I don't know what sort of sense it is specifically, a dark sort of humor I suppose, but it also involves a certain amount of (at lack of a better term) cajones. Because really, I could never be mean to someone like that without immediately apologizing. A total and utter lack of tact combined with a dark sense of humor is, in my head, enviable. Probably why I like the character of Wednesday so much.

Mmm-hmm. "Funny" isn't much of a merit in my book if one at all.

Aaaaaah - I live for funny. I am a whore for comedy. Anyone who can get me to laugh with them (and not at them, those folks usually suck) has a piece of my heart forever. There are many, many people with little bits of my heart trailing around them at all times.

Ooh, heart. Chewy.

I don't. Lawful can be a bit boring at times, admittedly.
